Council Activities and Civic Service Committee
The Council level committee is a group of experienced Scouters that help the District Committee Activity and Civic Service committees plan a balanced schedule of ‘fun’ and civic activities. They recruit teams to carry out activities such as Scouting for Food, local participation in civic events and community service, Camporees, Scout Shows, and planning calendars. They encourage and help maintain a balanced budget for the activities. This committee also helps organize and promote National Scouting Events such as National Jamboree and Scouting Anniversary Week.

What Is Philmont?
Philmont Scout Ranch is located in northeast New Mexico, near the town of Cimarron,
and covers 215 square miles of rugged mountain wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo range
of the Rockies. This land was once the private retreat for oil tycoon Waite Phillips, who donated it to the Boy Scouts
"for the purpose of perpetuating faith, self-reliance, integrity, and freedom; principles used to build this great country
by the American pioneer." Since 1938, over 600,000 scouts have experienced Philmont's scenic vistas, rich history, and
a wide variety of programs.
