The Mission of the Council Advancement Committee

The mission of the Council Advancement Committee is to implement throughout the council the policies and procedures of the Boys Scouts of America. This mission is accomplished by providing training, by promoting advancement, and by supervising those involved in the advancement process.

A good advancement program in the council requires cooperation by between the council and district committees, the commissioner staff, and the units they serve.

The Evangeline Area Council Advancement Committee has decided that: Effective August 1, 2005, all Eagle BOR’s will be organized by the district.  3 district appointed (trained & certified) representatives (one of whom must be a registered Scouter) will sit on each Eagle BOR.  The unit of the Eagle Scout Candidate is allowed to recruit 3 additional persons to serve.  Each district advancement committee is authorized to determine the schedule of their district’s Eagle BOR’s.  This schedule should serve the needs of the district.
